Odanın yanları, uçları ve üst kısımları elyaflı seramik bir yalıtım ile izole edilmiştir. Ön taraf, yüksek sıcaklıkta, çekimsiz bir gözlem penceresine sahiptir. Pencerenin altında kullanıcının kalorimetre tutma çerçevesini veya numune tutma sistemini kolayca yerleştirmesini sağlayan kayan bir platform bulunur (çerçeveleri tutar ve sabitler). Oda sıcaklığı bir termokupl ile izlenir ve programlanabilir bir LCD metrede görüntülenir. Test süresi, programlanabilir bir elektronik LCD zamanlayıcı ile ölçülür.
